INNOVATORIET – A WELFARE TECHNOLOGY EXHIBITION

Innovatoriet, in the city of Horten in Norway, houses the largest exhibition of welfare technology in Europe. 150 different welfare technologies from 60 different providers are exhibited. Innovatoriet was founded to make it easier for physiotherapists, companies and other parties interested in welfare technology to find inspiration in one place, instead of having to search many different places. WHAT IS CEREBRAL PALSY?

Cerebral palsy is an umbrella term for damage to the brain that occurs before, during or after birth.  The injury occurs before the brain is fully developed, not more than 2 years after birth. Individuals with cerebral palsy have difficulties of varying degrees. Typical symptoms are stiff muscles, involuntary movements, problems with concentration, and impaired fine and gross motor skills. The injury can occur in different parts of the brain; symptoms will therefore vary according to which part of the brain is injured. Martin Hjort has a son, Gustav, who has cerebral palsy. Martin didn’t feel that Gustav achieved enough results from going to physiotherapy once a week. So Martin established the company INNOVAID, where he works every day, making a difference for Gustav and others in similar situations.
