I have been a Saebo certified Occupational Therapist for two years. One of the things that impresses me the most about Saebo is that their products are made uniquely. The SaeboFlex was the first device that I encountered in my twenty-three years as an Occupational Therapist that truly allowed my patients to open their hands and achieve a functional grasp and release from the moment the orthotic was fitted to them. The lack of hand function for stroke survivors using other orthoses has always been extremely frustrating for me. I’ve seen amazing results in reducing hypertonicity and regaining function with the Saebo products. I have watched patients who had extremely limited shoulder motion show a more rapid increase in shoulder function as they reached to grasp items while using the SaeboFlex/Reach than with any other product.

To me, Saebo products are unique and just make sense. Take the SaeboStretch, for example. Now that I have seen and used this product, it seems obvious that a neuro-patient should not be in a static splint. Yet, that is what all of us OTs did for years! When my patients use the SaeboStretch, I see improved compliance with splint wear and improved soft-tissue lengthening. A number of my patients actually LIKE their Stretches.

As an Occupational Therapist, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing the look of hope in my patients’ eyes when I explain to them what Saebo products offer. Many have even shed tears at the possibility of using their arms and hands again. When these patients use their Saebo products for the first time and are able to pick up and move items with their hands, an ability many lost after their stroke, the look of hope in their eyes inspires me, motivates me, restores me. I am on fire about Saebo products. Saebo has renewed my passion for neuro. I wish that I had known about it years ago!!
